Douglas County School District is the third largest in the state, serving more than 62,000 students. It is located to the south of the Denver Metropolitan Area, and includes Castle Rock, Sedalia, Parker, Highlands Ranch and portions of Littleton.
Faculty and Staff
- 168 staff members
- 70% of the faculty has earned masters or doctorate degrees in their specified content areas
- 8 school counselors provide students with support services
Advanced Placement
Advanced Placement courses are offered in 22 subject areas. Due to enrollment, some AP courses are not available for students to take every year. There is no limit to the number of AP courses a student can take, however, scheduling restraints may prevent some students from taking every AP course available.
International Baccalaureate
International Baccalaureate Diploma courses are offered in 24 subject areas. Due to enrollment, some IB courses are not available for students to take every year. All IB full diploma students are required to take courses in the six core subject areas. All students who meet prerequisites can take IB Diploma courses at ThunderRidge High School.
Career and Technical Education (CTE)
ThunderRidge offers five approved CTE pathways including Business and Marketing, Construction Trades, Family and Consumer Sciences, Multimedia, and Welding.
